Hi,
I have a client defined which has several organisations, each representing a seperate shop. Each organisation / shop has a warehouse. In addition to the shop's warehouse there are regional warehouses.
Everything works fine when I create a Sales Order with Oragnisation and warehouse set to the corresponding value. When I try to set the warehouse to any other warehouse (not the one corresponding to the selected organisation) I get the following error: "Warehouse Organisation is not Document Organisation".
How can I create sales orders using another organisation's warehouse?

Thanks for your help,
Markus

Hi Markus!

Well, sorry to tell you that this is what Compiere cannot do. 1 Warehouse is tied to only 1 Org. You are not allowed to share Warehouse between organizations. As such, the Warehouse of the Sales Order MUST be belonging to the Org for the Sales Order. The msg you get is normal.

Marco,
Idea 1) Perhaps you have to do an Inventory Movement. That i think Compiere can do. Meaning you sell something from your own Warehouse. If its not available, you search your other warehouses for it and issue a transfer order.

Idea 2) Perhaps you can do a workaround by creating different locators within the same warehouse.

Lets say you called Warehouse 2 as 'Locator 2' within the same warehouse.
So when you do a Sales Order, the problem doesnt arise. Then during shipment you request from Locator 2 (Warehouse 2).

Thanks for your 'problem' as it teaches us to think and build 'expertise' on applying to real scenarios Cool

Hi Guys,
if I have multiple shops, all are supplied by the same warehouse. How would Iimplement that (in other words multiple oragnisations having a single warehouse)? Any suggestions?

Thanks for your reply.

Regards,
Markus

Hi Markus,
You should try a test system in Compiere to see if u can have your centralised WH for all your organisation.
This is the way we usually try any idea, to see if its concept is true. Just a quick setup to create a new client with many organisations but only one Standard Warehouse.
When that is proven you just restore back your DB and do it proper.

Hi,

Due to the fact of 1 org to 1 warehouse, you'll have to do inventory move. Even if different locator is set up, you still have to transfer between locators. This, to some, may be a bit cumbersome!

If it's OK with you, you can create Locators or Warehouses and conduct sales via the Delivery Rule of FORCE for these warehouses. Thereafter, transfer from the main warehouse to these warehouses to negate the negative stocks.

Well, there is still another workaround that I'm trying now. Will update you guys once completed! In the meantime, you can try the above!
