Hi!!!!
As far as i know, compiere has not been implemented for this kind of business. As you may know, compiere has a strong enough structure to support this kind of implementation.
The issue is the same as always with this kind of projects; Consulting phase. If you have a good team of professionals who know about ERPs and about compiere (or compiere -based solutions), and who know how to make real deep changes to compiere to accomodate the new demanded functionalities, you will have a successful process.
With the transaction based structure of compiere, and the powerful structure of its database, you can add any data you need and create in the java source code the business logic to manage it. It is also possible to integrate it with third party apps, such as the software for the control of the tankers.
Hope this all helps,
Regards, |

| You can use the BOM (Build of Materials) aspect of the Product Module in Compiere to cater for this. Further accuracy of process will require some coding and config changes. But a proper study is needed and u have to map out your reqs. As Lofx said, u can call on consultants to assist. U can refer to a Compiere Partner nearest to u. We also provide such paid service remotely via broadband but we are choosy of our projects these days due to time constraints. |

Then u better purchase the USD50 User Manual from ComPiere Inc at www.compiere.com. Its invaluable for the pursuit of Compiereology. The Manual is far from solving your real needs, as a proper ERP project requires a full Life Cycle and thats very costly in terms of human effort and skilled expertise. But the Manual is a vital start to it.
I m saying this so that users dont think that been free in software means its free all the way. It probably save u around 35% of a whole USD100k project. The major advantage in a fully customised Compiere is that it will give true productivity and and automation of paperwork to the Client. |
