Hi n2n,

I created a bank account in Compiere. Now i want to enter opening balance or the current balance int he bank account. How do i do that?

Hi Reeja,
For accounts posting you can use the Journal Posting section. There may be other ways, as you can explore in the Cash Journal too. I suggest you get hold of the Compiere User Manual too to familiarise more of the many features on the subject

Well, well, well! Opening balances! This not only applies to Bank but also all other accounts opening balances!

Hi Reeja,
The normal way for taking in journals that were from previous periods before the setting up of Compiere can be through the mechanism of Import Journal. However there may be diverse accounting consequence in accordance to your local practice.
You might thus try to investigate further from the Sourceforge forum regarding accounting. This particular one might interest you :
