Current documentation about SaaS functionality

Postby smartjsp » Sat Jun 16, 2012 3:39 am

Hi everyone.

Could your remind me where can I find the last documentation about the SaaS (software as a service) functionality of adempiere 3.6 ?

Some specific questions about it :

1. Could you control the number of simultaneous users or block functionality to the ERP based in SaaS parameters for example ?

2 How stable and complete is this implementation ?

3. do we expect to have new features around this topic with Idempiere ?

Regards,

This is something done by Carlos Ruiz since old ADempiere.
To me as i said it here http://www.adempiere.com/ERP_On_Demand i would reexplain that it will be whimsical to try to do it like any other ERP project. It is not an ERP project but must be a serious huge project all on its own as it involves many issues such as security, confidence (as data is kept not within but without), and 24X7 uncompromising availability and dependability. It will require untold amount of testing, benchmarking, and hardening.

Your question points exactly to such issue - hardening from unauthorised usage, independence from other client users. Solve this first. New features are not that important.

Hi Pedro,

> 1. Could you control the number of simultaneous users

Not with current code.

> or block functionality to the ERP based in SaaS parameters for example ?

Yes, based on definition of modules and levels, and exceptions.

> 2 How stable and complete is this implementation ?

I have used it and it works fine - it adds a layer of configuration that you must manage.

Any contribution is welcome.
