Oracle Database migration from one user to another ?

Postby harinder_kaur » Wed Dec 28, 2005 8:09 pm

Hi All!

i have two oracle database users in same compiere database.

suppose one is
username:test
passsword:test
database name:compiere

and second one is
username:dev
passsword:dev
database name:compiere

dev/dev@compiere is working properly at client side.they have made some entries in that user.
Client wanted some changes in compiere GUI as well as in some functionality.

we have made that changes in test/test@compiere and it is working properly.

Problem is how can i import the new data (rows from Application dictionary as well as new tables and some modification in original old tables) into dev/dev@compiere without affecting their buisness process( old database entries).

Thanks and Regards,

This may exactly be the challenge for the Compilo project at http://compilo.sf.net/ There u can find out about the XML2AD by Marco LOMBARDO which does the transfer of AD Changes from one instance to another.

Hi Harinder,

Druid can generate model.xml, alterTable.sql, createTable.sql, but view.xml at the moment is created manualy.

Please read PDF document writen by Red1, there you will find usefull information.
