Functional Problem in Cash Journal

Postby gaurav » Tue Aug 01, 2006 8:01 pm

Hi All,

I was using Cash journal window and found following functional bugs in it:

1. In Cash Journal tab:
It shows sum of all transactions of corresponding "cash lines" (irrespective of fact whether they are expenses or revenue type) in field 'Statement Difference'.

Secondly, it adds 'Statement Difference' and 'Begnining Balance' values and shows them as 'Ending Balance. Whereas in my opinion, the value in 'Statement Difference' should be calculated on the basis of "cash type" selected in "Cash Line Tab". eg.

Begnining Balance: Amount: 1000

Line 1: Cash Type: General Receipts Amount: 100
Line 2: Cash Type: General Expenses Amount: 50

Statement Difference: (after calculation) Amount: 50
Ending Balance: (after calculation) Amount: 950

Ideally as per accounting it should be like this ony but actually compiere is producing the

following results:-->

Begnining Balance: Amount: 1000

Line 1: Cash Type: General Receipts Amount: 100
Line 2: Cash Type: General Expenses Amount: 50

Statement Difference: (after calculation) Amount: 150
Ending Balance: (after calculation) Amount: 1150

2. Posting Issue:
On posting this document Compiere will above stated lines as follows:

Accounts Element Dr Cr

79400-CashBook Expense -50 00
79500-CashBook Receipts 00 100
11900-Petty Cash 150 00
--- ---
100 100

Where as it should be:

Accounts Element Dr Cr

79400-CashBook Expense 00 50
79500-CashBook Receipts 100 00
11900-Petty Cash ?? ??
--- ---
?? ??

Please help in solving this issue.
Functionality of Cash Journal is not clear to me...
If Compiere is posting enteries in right manner then please do explian it as well.

Thanks

Gaurav
