Import Charges

Hi Red1,

Import charges such as Freight, Insurance, storage etc require to be added onto the cost price of each individual product that was imported. This will inflate the cost of the product by the value of the Freight. How do I do something like that in Compiere?

Hi Markus,
At present Compiere handle this matter thru the Charges field. For charges to be active u may have to check it in the AD. Then the Charge field shall appear during Sales and Purchase Orders. There can also be a definition of various Charges in Compiere under one of its menus.
About shipment of combined goods, where the charges fluctuate and is dependent on the shipper as well as the bulk discounts, it is in a accounting subject area that many Compiereans have hilited on. It is been brought to Jorg's attention too for some time now.
U have to scout the forums for previous literature on this. Its pretty complex and Compiere as i know it cannot cater for this unless thru manual outside calculations and bringing the price variance to bear during price and costs adjustments.
