Hi Red1,

my product is made up of a number of sub items. If I enter the price of each sub items, other charges and profit margin, can Compiere calculate the cost of my product based on those data supplied?

Many thanks,
Hema

Hi Hema,
Yes, like i tot u before, there is a cascading policy in value setting in Compiere.
If the lower levels has it, and the higher one is intentionally left blank, it will derive and report it at the higher level.
In this particular case, it is so.

Hi Red1,

thank you very much for your reply. But I don't know how to do it?:(

I have two sub products e.g. A and B. I have entered the List Price and PO Price of each A and B in the purchase tab of the product window.

My product C will be composed of sub products A and B. They are listed in a bill of materials.

What other data do I need to enter for the system to calculate the price of product C?

Many thanks,
Hema

Hi Hema,
*haha* The answer is "Do Nothing!".

Its automatically calculated. Remember? If the parent field is left blank, it shall derive its value during BOM Drop. Hmm, maybe u didn't realise that the price will appear only during that drop.

Thus the price of C shall never be seen at all in the base tables, and only in the Sales Order after a BOM Drop to it. You should have created a Sales Order first. Then go to the Bom Drop, select your BOM, and then select the Sales Order.

Well, so now u have it.
