What is iDempiere?

This is for some who either are confused about the name or would not bother to read my long political statement of the Bogotan Announcement or about branding.

What is iDempiere? There are few easy sugar-coated answers you can take to make your next killing:
1. It is the OSGi version of ADempiere but with great enhancements.
2. It is the next big thing after ADempiere.
3. It is the next wave after ADempiere.
4. It is the project where the top people behind the Compiere and ADempiere community has gone to.
5. It is a better ADempiere with component-based architecture similar to Eclipse.

Below are some real answers that will scare you not to fit it for your organisation:
1. It is a fork of the fork of Compiere.
2. It is another bunch of nerds who will not last 6 months.
3. It is a bunch of screamers.
4. It will eventually ask you for money.
5. It has no neck to choke.
6. It raises alarm bells.
7. It is ruled by Nazi dictators.
8. Some board of directors made a big mistake deciding on it.

Thank you Aleksandr for the link so i was able to read it just now, and it is indeed a beautiful piece cos it has reference to facts and history. However the conclusion there and here is clear. We have to move forward and it need not be in that boat where the bazaar rules have certainly changed and taken over by commercial interests.

Here the beauty is that its the same people who voice out against such interests. It is both fun and satisfying working with such people. As you can see iDempiere is now unbelievably fast, growing and very busy. It is an open source contributor or community dream.

I think the monsters who took over are a blessing in disguise because when we were there we have to work double hard to clean the place all the time. This time here we have more free time and the place is very clean.
