Patches for 360lts (maintained by globalqss)

Postby globalqss » Fri May 06, 2011 12:58 am

This post was "moderated by CC" (deleted) on sourceforge adempiere forums, so I'm copying here for historic purposes:

Hi community, because of my involvement on OSGi+ADempiere project I haven't
had enough time to make releases recently.

Somebody asked me recently on IRC if I'm going to keep providing free maintenance
for this version, and publishing those patches here. My answer was, yes, meanwhile
I'm allowed to do that.
I'm glad providing a branch based on quality assurance, used and tested in production
sites, and with *constant* bug fixes and improvements.

I made some counts and since the release of 360LTS version, these patches have
fixed 133 bugs, and implemented 30 new features (even a few big and very important
like the control of negative inventories, cash flow and control of installments
on orders, etc) - also, on these patches have been "rejected" some things committed
in trunk mostly because of quality reasons.

Since the latest release I fixed 16 new bugs and implemented 4 new improvements,
so, I think it's time to release a new patches for the followers of this
version:

Glad to announce here a new set of globalqss patches for 360lts release.

The links:
You can download the patches from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/adempie ... z/download

Don't forget to apply the unapplied migration scripts:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/adempie ... z/download

As usual, the modifications done can be found here:
http://kenai.com/projects/adempiere361/ ... 61/history

Every commit has a comment indicating the improvement or bug fixed.
http://demo.globalqss.com was upgraded accordingly

Last, but not least, glad to announce that all these fixes have been successfully
integrated into the new OSGi+ADempiere=iDempiere project - I can ensure now
that users of these patches will have a clear and straight migration path to
this new version.

Please report your issues with these patches here - or in the legendary red1
forums -> http://red1.org/adempiere/

It seems that the new CC is 'hostile' to contributors and silent to non-contributors. How can a non-profit oriented forum such as mine be considered advertising? I advertised about forking Compiere and defended such acts as proper for the sake of the community. Likewise today you advertised your work in proper manner. You do not say, "come eat only at Carlos or pay GlobalQSS for better ADempiere service'.
You are like the honeybee queen that ensures honey is released all the time. When the queen moves we have to follow unless we got a better queen. All we care is the honey not the sting.

I think CC has been poisoned beyond reason. Ignore them. You can see your words made no positive impact there but invite further accusations upon you. Just let us focus on making the much awaited iDempiere release and i will call for a fresh community support on this.

You have the legendary red1's word of honour :)

Another announcement "moderated by CC" (deleted) on sourceforge adempiere forums, so I'm copying here for historic purposes:
______________________

Hi community, I was asked again on red1 forums to keep releasing patches for 360 version with the bugs I found and fix from my customers and community.

As CC never sustained properly the deletion of the previous patches release message (never answered the call from 8 community members to explain), and they shown signs of "peace", I'll make another try to provide a new patch for your enjoyment.

Glad to announce here a new set of globalqss patches for 360lts release.
This new patch come with an interesting improvement -> support for postgresql 9.0

The links:
You can download the patches from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/adempie ... z/download

Don't forget to apply the unapplied migration scripts:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/adempie ... z/download

As usual, the modifications done can be found here:
http://kenai.com/projects/adempiere361/ ... 61/history

Every commit has a comment indicating the improvement or bug fixed.
http://demo.globalqss.com was upgraded, now it's running with postgresql 9.0.4, so I'll appreciate any tests and feedback from community on this version.

And again, glad to announce that all these fixes have been successfully integrated into the new OSGi+ADempiere=iDempiere project - users of these patches will have a clear and straight migration path to this new architecture.

Please report your issues with these patches here - or in the legendary red1 forums -> http://red1.org/adempiere/

Just a control question. Is it correct that if I use your patches for 360 lts there's a clear and straight migration path to iDempiere?

Thanks for all the good work!

Best regards

Hi Daniel,

Just a control question. Is it correct that if I use your patches for 360 lts there's a clear and straight migration path to iDempiere?

Totally correct.

If you have actually a globalqss361 installation (this is 360 + globalqss patches) then it's just a matter of applying the unapplied migration scripts from here:
http://bitbucket.org/idempiere/idempier ... ostgresql/

So, if you compare those scripts with the scripts from the patches here:
http://adempiere.svn.sourceforge.net/vi ... ostgresql/

You would need to apply just:
Code: Select all
784_739_FR3015882_CopyProduct.sql
785_744_FR3018857_ImporterInventoryMove.sql
786_FR3018857_FixImporterInventoryMove.sql
787_418_BF2583992.sql
788_UUIDGenerator.sql
789_GenerateUUIDColumns.sql
790_FixWrongOfficialIDs.sql
791_FillUUIDPrimaryTables.sql
793_FillUUIDChildrenTables.sql
795_NewMessages.sql
