Hi All,

This is my repo for fixed asset stabilization effort: https://bitbucket.org/edwin_ang/fixed_assets

I have test and re-test for quite sometime, so I can guarantee it WILL WORK on PostgreSQL database with CarlosRuiz Adempiere361. Just don't apply migration script 845_IDEMPIERE-255.sql, cos that script add new mandatory column 'Name' in table AD_PrintFormatItem_Trl. Some of the fixed assets script dates back before IDEMPIERE-255 so they don't have 'Name' value yet.

I am finding some time to work on the user manual. Mean while, this is for the developers who want to evaluate the code.

What's working:
1. Asset Addition from match invoice, from project, from manual
2. Asset Depreciation with Straight Line method only. No first year convention considered yet.
3. Asset Disposal.

Regards,
Edwin Ang

Hi Edwin,

This is a great work, and I think it is ready for production use.

The Creation of Asset from Project is a great addition - it solves real business cases.

The Depreciation Calculation Method, Table Based Depreciation (as it can handle any kind of depreciation), First Year Conversion are highly important.

When do you plan to finalize such features? Or what kind of workarounds do you suggest until then?

Thank you for the greater works.

Hi jdcs,

Our use case is very simple here in Indonesia. So, I have no idea about the calculation formula. If you can provide a document, may be we can do work on it.

Hi Edwin,

Sorry for late reply.

My issue was to have at least "Table Based" depreciation as it was described in the prev Adempiere FA manual. Because people can use it to make up almost all kinds of depreciation.

Specific to my case, in my region we use (1) Straight Line & (2) Declining Balance (not Accelerated by any rate).
Look at here how the declining balance method works against Straight Line http://www.assetaide.com/depreciation/db-sv.html & http://accountinginfo.com/study/dep/depreciation-01.htm

In addition among the missing features as you described these are more important: Depreciation Calculation Method & First Year Conversion as per the prev Adempiere FA manual.

Thank you again.
