New amedment in the Compiere liicense for GPL

Postby marlom9000 » Mon Feb 07, 2005 7:34 pm

Hi,
I red the compiere license after a while and I noticed it now include an amendment that is a de facto dual license. It permits the use of the GPL is you are using code under GPL.
It was not present in the 2.5.1f
It seemed to me a very big news.

Comments?

Regards,

Mar

How does dual license work? Hmm i guess it means u can hide it and u also cannot hide it?

What if i wish to port Compiere components onto the OfBiz entityengine framework? I know now that u merely put a statement 'Copyright Compilo with parts copyright by Compiere and Ofbiz'.

But anyway, now that Jorg Janke announced the 2.5.2 version with database independence is also big news. Finally the critics will have to find another job. :( Not to mention lots of Oracle ppl
