Flow of purchase order being created

Postby samjoshi26 » Thu Dec 22, 2005 9:11 pm

Can anyone tell me the exact flow of events when a purchase order is

created? I have debugged a lot and everytime I get puzzled at the

following :-

There is a button labelled "complete". What happens when it is clicked/?

I have searched the actionPerformed methods but could not get

Is there anything 'dynamic' that happens behind the scene ?

Also, if I am not wrong there is no method named createPO()

though there is a method createPOForVendor

I suspect control being passed to po.java but cannot conclude anything.

Please can anyone enlighten me?

Your help will be highly appreciated,

To know what a button does is to investigate from the SystemAdmin>ADTable and look at the process class or SQL defined at that button.

If its not defined there it means its hardcoded, and also now Compiere passes control to the WorkFlow engine, which has a Prepare>Complete pattern. Its quite dificult to grasp these new engine and takes a lot of practice to do so.

PO.java is about Persistence Object control and not involved with the business process flow. Its more of keeping values in context.
