Multi-row display in POS

Postby ibiddles » Fri Dec 24, 2004 6:22 am

Do you have the details somewhere of how you and Robin did the multi-row display on your order line screen in POSred?

Many thanks, Ivan.

Hi Ivan,
The details are shown on page 7, of the http://compiere.red1.org/POSred.zip document.

It is a screenshot (Figure 4) that depicts clearly how you define 3 tabs, with the 3rd tab rolled into the 2nd.

The 3rd tab is basically a copy of the 2nd, but u specify it to be NOT Single Row Layout.

The crucial twist is in the 2nd Tab, where you say in the Included Tab box to have the 3rd Tab.

Originally the Sales Order window has only the first and second tabs.

Thanks for asking  And mighty thanks for signing my http://red1.org/guestbook and joining here.

M also looking forward to your contribution - will put it in the Contributor's Corner for ya :)

Hi Red1,

I am progressing with my setups. I have several different "versions" of Compiere 2.5.1g running -- with Firebird/Fyracle on W2K and Linux and with Oracle 10g on both also.

I have created my new POS window but when I try to give access to it (in Window Tab & Field) to a normal user, the only client in the drop-down in System and the only role is System Administrator.

How do I give access to my cosAdmin in my "cos" client?

Best wishes, Ivan

P.S. Seeing that you are going to publish your docs, I noticed that on page 7 item 11, you have 'Default Value' when it should be 'Default Logic'. (This is not a criticism, it's just to get you a jumpstart on your editing process.)

Hi Ivan,
Didnt i tell u somewhere that i absolutely hate criticism?
For without it, i wouldn't be here.

About giving access, that screen can be misleading. It actually has already given access in another fashion. U may refer to another GardenWorld sample. These matters often require some goosechases. Problem is Compiere is not mature yet in the graphical presentation of its AD properties.

Thanks for filling in the proofreader post!

Unfortunately, that "Included Tab" box seems to be nonavailable in the version I am using right now.. (2.5.2d)

Any ideas how to do this with this version ?

Thanks in advance..

Hi Kannan,

I had the same problem too. I didn't see the POSred.pdf's content with the Acrobat.

Try with Foxit Reader (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php)

Newer versions included tab

Postby stingreye » Tue Aug 01, 2006 5:48 am

Some older posts so maybe this answer was already posted... if not here is how I got around POS multi-row.

I think the "included tab" was removed becuase its no longer officially supported. However, the column is still there for backwards compatibilty.

So look at the underlying database and add teh appropriate flag or better yet, add the field for the included tab to the "AD_TAB" Window.

Multi-row display for new versions of compiere (tested on 253b) :
As mentionned by red1 in his POS tutoriel and by others in this forum the multi-row display is possible by the included tab option. but in the some newer release this option is simply desabled.
One way to walk around it is to enter directly the tab id of the child tab record in the included tab id field of the parent tab record in the database(the field still exists). So now you can continue with the POSRED tutorial
